Pippa is the founder and managing director of Plain Speaking PR and has worked within the communications sector for more than 25 years. Having worked on both client and agency side, Pippa is passionate about her job and will talk until she’s blue in the face about the value professional PR can bring to businesses and communities.
Whilst the Plain Speaking PR agency name derives from her maiden name, Pippa is a firm believer in a plain speaking, straight-talking approach to communications, with minimal jargon and maximum results. She’s proud to have helped many organisations navigate communications surrounding complex and sensitive issues; often during times of change or crisis.
In her spare time, Pippa enjoys attempting to keep fit, writing beauty articles for regional magazines and newspapers, enjoying the best of Norfolk’s food and drink, and planning her next holiday to Greece. She also supports a number of local charities and social enterprises including Miniature Donkeys for Wellbeing.
Pippa is a member of the Chartered Institute of Public Relations.
Hannah joined Plain Speaking PR in 2016 as an Account Director, bringing considerable agency and in-house experience.
Today, she oversees our successful client relationships as Plain Speaking PR’s Client Services Director and is Pippa’s right-hand woman.
Having directed award-winning integrated and not-for-profit PR campaigns, she has a knack for rapidly getting to grips with what makes a business and organisation tick, what sets them apart, who their priority audiences really are and what they care about. Identifying angles, spotting stories and other opportunities for brands to be seen and heard, Hannah cuts through the noise to get our clients seen and understood, in the right places and by the right people.
We’re a senior team of two, so as well as taking a strategic overview, clients also benefit from our directors remaining hands on, day-to-day. Hannah oversees client projects through from brief, to plan, to execution, always focussing on delivering outcomes that bring value and bolster long-term reputation.
And, when reputations are at stake, she works tightly with our MD Pippa Lain-Smith, to offer sound, calm, professional issues management advice.
Out of Plain Speaking PR, she lets off steam at HIT boxing classes and enjoys a slow and steady paddleboard along the River Waveney.
Hannah is a member of the Chartered Institute of Public Relations and completed the CIPR Diploma in 2010.
